Rev Spivey will focus on the feminine aspect as he pays tribute to mothers and motherhood this morning. Rev Spivey has dual masters’ degrees in Clinical Social Work and Theology. As our YRUU group works to organize their new program, having recently voted to become an affiliate of the district, rather than an “arm,” they are planning the always entertaining youth service. What scholars call “higher textural criticism” arrived 300 years ago but contemporary congregations are ill informed. Theologian Sheila Harty’s intention is to equip us with some facts so American Christian culture will be better understood. Sheila has a Master’s degree with emphasis in Catholicism, Islam and Judaism. She was also a Nader Raider for 10 years.
